What's On
Wanna know what Ryan's up to? Check this page for the latest news!
Recently Ryan tore up the stage at the 1st Annual Montreal Reggae Festival. Fans were blown away by his energy, his vocal and musical arrangements as well as his presence! The Festival featured reggae greats like Luciano and Freddy MacGregor. Ryan's performance was inked early on in the planning stages and coincided nicely with his return to Canada from shows in Birmingham, England and Paris, France. A familiar face overseas, Ryan has become something of a nomadic voice over the years cutting a swath through Eastern Europe, Asia, Europe the UK and back over to this side of the world. This past year Ryan has been drawn back in the land of wood and water. Like a magnetic force Jamaica has pulled him into her mystique again and again to work on projects, clock in some studio time, and write songs or even to shoot a video.
Prezident Brown and Ryan collaborate for the release of 'Be Thankful (For What You Got)' out now on Sony Music International. Click here for a look at the lush and beautiful video! In addition to hitting the BET airwaves the song got plenty of spins on IRIE FM, in Jamaica and in Europe- here at home it's been played on local stations in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver. The video is classic Jamaica and it's guaranteed to either make you homesick or inspire you to visit. Shot in the verdant landscape of Port Antonio, it's a slice of Jamaican life set to a seriously sweet beat. No Problem!
Storm Alarm - This is one weather alert you won't want to miss!! Recently Ryan penned the pensive and rhythmic "Chant Rastafari (I Ah Chant)" a new song that was immediately sent to France for an upcoming release as a seven inch featuring Turbulence on the flipside! This song has hit the ground running proving to be one of the major gems on this 16 track CD produced by JP of Special Delivery Music in France. The CD features a full range of artists using the 'Storm Alarm' rhythm including Luciano, Tony Rebel, and Turbulence- but Ryan's is the stand out tune. Ryan's partnership with JP began when JP caught the ReggaeSoul bug in France after seeing Ryan perform he was hooked! Soon after came a request to contribute a song on the Clean Vibes rhythm. 'Liberate' is an instantly infectious song that will have your feet moving but your mind engaged. It's a cry for equality, for emancipation and for careful scrutiny of the world we inhabit. Liberate is proving to be a major hit at his live shows too-
connecting with fans on a gut level. So Get Liberated and Chant Rastafari -
great music from a great partnership. Ask for it at your local record shops!
After conquering the small screen with regular rotation here in Canada and airplay in Jamaica, Bad Energy by Ryan and Andrew Ranxx is spreading like wildfire!…the song continues to get steady airplay and all the positive energy it has whipped up has kicked down the doors in the European market. Our sources tell us that and the song has recently been added to German radio playlists one station at a time. Cooyah!
Andrew Ranxx and Ryan recently teamed up again to perform at the Elephant Man stage show at the International Centre in Toronto. Ryan's tour schedule includes dates with Glen Washington later this summer- check out our tour info for ongoing updates. As always Ryan has been busy popping up at events, concerts, TV and radio. He appeared at the Roots Rock Reggae: Bob Marley Memorial Awards in February at the Roots Canada Flagship store in Toronto where he performed live; he was "caught on tape" vibing with Dalton Higgins on BPMTV's Urban Groove and he's been heard on all of the reggae radio programs from coast to coast. Always an innovator, look out for Ryan's funky club tune "In da Club" on the Sly & Robbie rhythm 'Big Up' to light up the clubs and party scene soon. It's got all the Sly & Robbie trademarks: beats, breaks and bass!
As usual, Ryan is on the move, check his tour dates or shoot us an email to find out where he'll land next. In the meantime show some love: call, fax or email your requests to radio and television stations in support of Ryan's music and videos.
Bless
